Friday Fest At The Van Wezel takes place on September 26, 2014. This event will feature the music of Adrian Ray and his band. Drink and food will be available at the event. This is a free event.

September 26, 2014: Visit the weekly “Live from Downtown Sarasota – It’s Friday Night!” Live entertainment at The Rosemary District  & Historic Downtown Village from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. Local entertainers, musicians and performing arts groups are highlighted in live street performances. Located in downtown Sarasota, the Rosemary District is bordered by the Tamiami Trail, Orange Avenue, and by 3rd and 10th Streets. Rotating locations.

September 26 – 28, 2014: It’s the 3rd Annual Suncoast Spearfishing Challenge. The event is hosted by Marina Jack’s and benefits a new charity each year. Each year, for this exciting underwater hunt and challenge, there is free entry for Military, Fire, EMS and Law Enforcement personnel. Marina Jack’s in on the Sarasota Bay Front, downtown Sarasota. September 27, 2014: The 6th Annual Sarasota 5000 Regatta features junior class rowers from across Florida. Competitions take place on Little Sarasota Bay at Blackburn Point Park. Get on a spectator boat and watch the races from the water. 8 a.m. – Noon. Free. Osprey/Casey Key.

September 27, 2014: Take part in Sarasota’s 21st  Annual National Public Lands Day for the removal of nuisance exotic plants and picking up trash and other debris. What to wear: Field appropriate clothes (or old clothes that can get dirty), closed-toe and closed-heel shoes such as hiking boots or old sneakers that may get wet, sunblock, hat, sunglasses and insect repellent. What to bring: Volunteers are encouraged to bring loppers, clippers or shears. Bring your own work gloves, extra drinking water and insect repellent. National Public Lands Day is the nation’s largest hands-on volunteer effort to improve and enhance America’s public lands.
