At Caragiulos, family makes the family meal.

It started with a family car trip orchestrated by Tony Caragiulo, a longtime bakery owner from Brooklyn, and his five sons, Anthony, John, Mark, Paul and Rob. Two weeks of driving around Florida ended with the car squealing to a stop outside a simple stucco building on Palm Avenue in Sarasota and Tony’s flabbergasted exclamation that this is where he would plant his Italian-American family restaurant.
From here, the family would create what has become one of the most popular Italian eaters in the region, focusing not only on the family’s love of authentic Italian classics but also Italian wine and movies. Festooned with intimate lighting, brick and wood work and art of Italy’s finest cinematic heroes and films, Caragiulos is a romantic eatery with elegant flair and authentic fare.
Sidle up to the wood bar or into the couch-lined lounge for a drink and meal or sit at a table-clothed table or booth for stellar service from our well-versed staff of servers and bartenders. Whether it’s straightforward meals like a brick-oven pizza, spaghetti and homemade meatballs and eggplant parmigiana or something more gourmet like Orrechiette pugliese, Cesar’s ravioli del Giorno or veal picatta, the chefs at Caragiulos prepare every plate with a family recipe that uses fresh and local ingredients to make even native Italians feel right at home.
